Student Discounts for the Shopaholic

Who says that you need to wait until the Holiday season to get some great deals on amazing clothes from high-quality brands?

Well, the CFS team has got you covered with an ultimate guide of student discounts from our favourite clothing stores (because there’s never a wrong time to go shopping or make the last-minute decision to revamp your entire closet). Remember that all of these retailers require proof, so don’t forget your Western Student ID when shopping.

If you’re looking to spice up your wardrobe with fun, on-trend pieces:

Topshop – 10% off your entire purchase

For more sophisticated, business casual looks to nail that internship interview:

Banana Republic – 15% off your entire purchase

Club Monaco – 20% off your entire purchase and an added bonus that can be applied on top of sales items as well.

Another great option to score on amazing deals for students is to sign up for loyalty programs such as the Student Price Card (SPC) . The SPC card is a loyalty card exclusively for Canadian students, which allows you to save up to 10-15% off purchases from your favourite stores such as Urban Outfitters, Aldo, Forever 21, and more.

Just recently I came across UNiDAYS, which if you register for and become a member with, will provide you access to discounts just for students from thousands of retailers. These include well-known favourites amongst online shoppers such as ASOS, more indie brands like the Los Angeles-based UNIF, and the ever so basic (but great) H&M.

In terms of general sales, many retailers put last season’s merchandise on sale this time of year. If you’re looking to stock up for next spring, mix these pieces in with your fall wardrobe, or get premium quality basics at a generous price, be sure to check out the sales sections of online Toronto-based boutiques. A few of our favourites include Gravity Pope that sells brands such as APC, Acne, and Rag & Bone, or HAVEN which sells a variety of niche Japanese and Korean brands.

Happy shopping!
