The annual American Music Awards brings together many of the most musically talented artists of our generation, as well as those with a brilliant sense of style and flare. CAISA Fashion Show is proud to share with you some of our favourite looks that left an impression on the red carpet.
As the host of this year’s AMAs, Gigi looked stunning in a floor length white Roberto Cavalli gown that didn’t hold back on the lace. Along with a shimmery matching choker, this was certainly a slick statement look that was followed by several other outfit changes throughout the night.
Chainsmokers – Alex Pall & Andrew Taggart
The Chainsmokers took home the award for Favorite Artist in the electronic dance music category that night, but not before they arrived in matching yet distinct suits. Both sported shirts with subtle floral accents and unique accessories, such as Alex’s porkpie hat and Andrew’s flower lapel pin.
While less elaborate than her previous AMAs outfits, Lady Gaga’s fashion statement at this year’s awards was simple yet chic. Gaga donned a Brandon Maxwell pantsuit with a plunging neckline and a matching fedora that covered her in white from head to toe.
Ty Dolla $ign
Decked out in all black, Ty Dolla $ign decided to play up his accessory game with ear jewelry, a nose ring, hip round sunglasses, and a plain cowboy hat. His vintage studded jacket also added a touch of flare to the rest of his outfit.
Tinashe looked as stylish as always in a sheer, off-the-shoulder Michael Costello dress complete with lots of polka dots and a cinched belt. She complemented the look with a voluminous up-do as well as an Atelier Swarovski Moselle palladium plated choker.
Hailee decided to rock a bright green Elie Saab romper complete with sparkling details, and EF Collection rings. This look is youthful but sophisticated, and adds a nice pop of colour while accentuating her long legs.
Chrissy just may have broken the record for the highest leg slit to ever grace a red carpet. She certainly made a daring fashion statement in this Yousef Akbar gown that features a waist-high cut secured in place with a gold safety pin.
Spencer, known for his singing and trumpeting skills, did not disappoint at his first ever red carpet event. He chose a mostly dark outfit with a polka top and leather pants, but brought in bright gold shoes to contrast. The hat and sunglasses are similar to those of Ty Dolla $ign, and seemed to be a trend at this year’s AMAs among the men.
Fifth Harmony (Dinah Jane Hansen, Lauren Jauregui, Normani Hamilton, Ally Brooke, and Camila Cabello) matched in black cutouts this year, featuring signature leg slits, high hemlines, and geometric shapes.
Jeannie showed off her figure in a white Francesca Miranda mirror gown embroidered with a mosaic of reflective pieces that absorbed the vibrant red of the carpet.
