Medieval Age Imagery. Gender Bending. Oversize. Crochet. J.W. Anderson’s FW17 seems at first glance to be a mismatch of random imagery. At closer look, however, there is a lot here to satisfy buyers. I’m especially fond of Anderson’s effortless items (such as his bombers, cardigans, and printed tees) that have been emboldened with his aesthetic through crotchet details and stained-glass-style art.
This isn’t to say that the only value of this show was in its more wearable designs. Even at its most outlandish, Anderson’s seemingly eclectic clothing has a coherent look that is executed on with impressive skill and attention to detail.
