Last fall, Uniqlo made its debut in Canada and this season, the Japanese clothing retailer recently announced its collaboration with UK-born designer Hana Tajima to launch an exclusive spring-summer modest-wear line in Canada. The Hana Tajima LifeWear collection will feature casual pieces such as full-length skirts and ankle-length pants, as well as traditional wear, including hijabs, and kebayas.
The garments in this collection convey femininity and modesty through its neutral colours, loose silhouettes, and effortless style while delivering all-day comfort. Currently, there are 30 pieces in the collection, which will be available across 15 countries.
In the past, Uniqlo has introduced multiple modest-wear lines in other markets, all of which have been successful. With other fashion retailers and design houses, including Zara, DKNY, and Dolce & Gabbana launching their own modest-wear collections since 2014, we are beginning to see greater diversification of the fashion market.
The Hana Tajima collection will arrive at Uniqlo in Toronto’s Eaton Centre and Yorkdale Mall on February 24th.
