Quarantine Christmas Activities

With the pandemic being far from over, the holidays this year may not look like exactly what we had hoped. However, whether you are celebrating at home with family, with your roommates or even alone, there are so many fun ways to still make the holidays feel special. To celebrate Christmas Eve (and Day 24 of Blogmas!) we’ve compiled a list of different quarantine Christmas/holiday ideas that you can do while keeping safe and social distanced!

1. Christmas Cookies

There’s nothing like the smell of freshly baked Christmas cookies to really make a house feel like a home during the holidays! Baking Christmas cookies is an amazing activity that you can do on Christmas Day and a great virtual activity as well if you find yourself separated from your family or friends this year. Before you get started, make sure you have some fun cookie cutters, frostings, and decorations on hand and post a photo of the finished product to see whose cookie is voted the best!

2. Holiday Kareoke

One of my all time favorite Christmas activities is singing everything from classic carols to recent holiday pop hits. For this activity, all you need is a laptop or tv screen to put up some Youtube Karaoke videos and a mic (or a hairbrush, we won’t judge). And you’re set to have a blast belting out some of your favorite holiday tunes!

3. Host a Virtual Party

If you find yourself feeling a little lonely this holiday season because of quarantine, plan a virtual party with your friends and family to get in on the holiday festivities! Whether it’s over Zoom or Facetime, there’s plenty of online games and conversation starters available to really get the party going. This is also a great chance to do some classic Christmas activities such as baking or cooking the same recipe over call!

4. Outdoor Holiday Events

Just because we are in a pandemic doesn’t mean that Christmas is entirely canceled. There are almost always plenty of outdoor and socially distanced holiday events available such as Christmas markets, your local skating rink! If the weather is nice, it’s also a great time to go on a walk with your family or roommates to look at the neighborhood Christmas lights!

5. Sledding

With the recent snow storm, it’s looking like we’re lucky enough to have a white Christmas this year! Set aside a few hours to go sledding or snow tubing with your family or roommates – whether it’s at your nearest ski resort or just a neighborhood hill + a DIY sled. Once you’re done sledding, another fun activity to do is taking advantage of the snow and making a snowman (this is a great time to get creative with the accessories)!
