Spring has Sprung!

on

Happy March 1st everyone! While we all wish that reading week could last just a bit longer, I’m sure I’m not alone in welcoming in the warmer weather and sunshine of March (yes I know there is still snow outside in London but let’s take what we can get). Spring is all about getting a fresh start, so if your 2022 started off on the wrong foot, now’s the perfect time to set the ground work for the rest of the year!

1. Farmer’s Markets

Spring is one of the best times for local produce and what better way to get the best pick of the bunch than at a farmer’s market? Farmer’s markets are a great way to support local businesses and a really fun way to spend an afternoon or weekend with some friends (perfect place to get ingredients for a charcuterie board night!). If you’re in London, the Covent Garden Market is a local gem that not only features produce but also some incredible baked goods – a perfect place for a study date!

2. Spring Cleaning

It’s called Spring cleaning for a reason. Breathe new life into your home by taking the time to clean all the places you forget about for the rest of the year! This is also a great time to sort out any old clothes that you don’t wear anymore for donation and to put away some of the more bulky winter gear for some fun spring fits. Need some inspo? Pinterest and Marie Kondo are great places to start!

3. Spend time outdoors

Winter in Canada isn’t always fun. In fact, many of us have probably spent most of the last few months cooped up at home hibernating to avoid the cold. Now that the weather is finally looking up, it’s the perfect time to go on more walks outside (rather than driving or taking the bus) and have some fun with outdoor activities like biking, hiking or even taking a beach day.

4. Get away

While reading week may be over, don’t let that stop you from planning a spontaneous adventure. There are a ton of cheap flight destinations available in the next coming months as more and more countries begin opening up and lifting restrictions! You’ll get away from any lingering cold weather and it’ll give your mind a helpful refresh. (Pro-tip: Use sites like Skiplagged to find the best deals!)

5. Celebrate the holidays!

Finally, we can’t forget about the Spring holidays! The start of Spring means that fan-favourite holidays like St. Patricks Day are only a few weeks away – this is your sign to get a head start on some festive gear before all the local dollaramas run out! Some other holidays to look forward to include April Fools, Easter, International Women’s Day and Earth Day!
